Our Story

Pistacho was born from the desire to create spaces that go beyond aesthetics. Homes that make sense in real life, in the habits and the unique way each person lives their everyday.
Where it all began

In 2019, pregnant with Mateus, I began painting illustrations in coloured pencil to decorate his bedroom. The illustrations started to attract a great deal of attention and praise from the guests I brought home, and it was then that, encouraged by my husband Luís, I created Pistacho in 2020.

With the growing demand for illustrations, after 3 months I decided to dedicate myself full-time to this project. In the meantime, in addition to sharing illustrations, I also started sharing tips, suggestions and inspiration images related to my area of expertise — architecture — which in turn led to the first requests for interior design projects.
Initially, the projects I undertook were mostly designed for nurseries and children's rooms. Over time, as the work gained recognition, full interior design and architecture projects began to emerge. In the early days, I set up a small studio in my home annexe. Today, we have our own atelier. In carrying out our projects, we work with essential partners, including carpentry, upholstery and joinery specialists, who help us create bespoke furniture.
The birth of Pistacho

Creating Pistacho was the realisation of a dream. It is incredible to wake up every day to do something I truly love — creating, drawing, and designing. My life's work is helping people have their dream home.
I believe that interior architecture is essential to our wellbeing and that the way we live in spaces directly influences our lives and the relationships we build at home. I also believe that every home is unique and that the people who live in it transform it. Every space should be designed around the needs, habits, and goals of those who inhabit it.

Founder and CEO

Bárbara Dias
A Master in Architecture since 2009, she founded Pistacho in 2020. A strong, visionary woman, a whirlwind. “Coffee is life”, and her phone is an extension of her.
Always passionate about drawing, in 2019 she started a very personal project that would become Pistacho. Today she leads a multidisciplinary team that creates spaces with identity, considered in every detail and adapted to the real life of each client.
