This project brings together 2 bedrooms. The client asked us to design her children's rooms, each in its own colour but following the same logic: sleep on one side, study by the window and store things opposite the bed.
Bedroom A: lilac and wood
The headboard and divan are upholstered in lilac, with a purple trim that gives the piece movement. It is a shade that recalls lavender and keeps the room calm.

In the sleeping area, light comes from a wall light on the headboard. The sockets and switches match the fabric, in a matt finish. Beside the bed sits a cylindrical bedside table with 2 sliding drawers. This wall also has a built-in wardrobe with generous storage.

On the other side, by the window, is the study area, to make the most of daylight. A wall-hung desk, fixed to the headboard, takes a table lamp matching the bed's wall light, and a chair.

Opposite the bed, one unit serves the whole room. It has open shelves with LED lighting for books and objects, and closed storage for everything else. It is lacquered in a light neutral shade, with wooden drawers and gold handles at the bottom.

The same unit has a niche with a cushion in the colour of the bed's upholstery. It is a place to put on shoes or to read. A gold-framed mirror completes the set, without excess.

Bedroom B: pale grey and petrol blue
The second room starts from very pale greys and a petrol blue. A wallpaper with geometric shapes gives it character.
The headboard is channel-tufted in the same blue and sits on a divan. Light for the bed comes from a black wall light and an LED strip in the headboard.

The headboard extends to the study area. Here the materials combine: the wall-hung desk has a wooden top and 3 lacquered drawers, and the bedside table has a wooden frame and lacquered drawers. As in bedroom A, the desk sits by the window with a table lamp matching the one on the headboard. A contemporary office chair completes the space.

On the wall opposite the bed, panelling in the headboard's colour links both sides of the room. It holds a unit with closed storage, shelves in the same blue and a niche with a cushion. Two canvases on the theme of space complete the wall.

What to take from this project
- The headboard defines the room. Upholstered and in colour, it does the work of a whole wall.
- The desk goes by the window. Daylight falls on the desktop, not on your back.
- A single unit opposite the bed takes care of books, clothes and a place to sit.
To measure the room before choosing the bed, see the Bedroom page. Pistacho's upholstered headboards are in the beds collection, and the tables that go with them in bedside tables.
